v28xh21 (v11"xh8") This is one of three in a series of small jewels of portraits of creatures of the air, as envisioned byGarnet Tobacco. The overall colour theme is a brilliant orange, with a softer, yelow-tinted background. There are tiny butterflies in orange and gold fluttering in the background. The work is on a paper board, rigid and easily framed. Garnet Tobacco uses sponges to create his works, with the fine lines done with brushes. His Aboriginal and cultural heritage is Cree, reflecting a very distinctive style, rather ethereal in tone, and using swooping lines to convey the delicate yet strong character of his creatures from the natural world.
