    dancing Mohawk-Blu Jay
    [coloured pen]

    PRICE$40.00

v 30 xh 23 cm Henry Hawkfeather has blended three somewhat abstracted figures within this one colourful, intriquing drawing. There is the face, with the characteristic male Mohawk hair ridge, then the blue jay to the left, having a ghostly appearance as the blue recedes into white. Henry sees the jay as there to help a lost soul. The humanoid dancing figure, limbs outstretch, head feathers raised, pulls the whole piece into an integrated image. On heavy artists' paper, acid-free, coloured pencil with light vegetable oil finish does not leak or transfer. extensive notes by artist on back of drawing written in pencil and signed, and adding value to the piece. artist's original
