    [red cedar-st]

V 43 x 15 h x2cm thk Alex Mountain returns to the mythic thunderbird¬Ě in a fairly large format. It will certainly focus attention wherever it is mounted or hung. Carved from red cedar, stained with the usual brown shoe polish, and buffed to bring out its features, this is an impressive, memorable work of Indian art. Alex did the carving in his small living space and then did the finishing while conversing with Marylee over a coffee in the large Seabus station in the heart of downtown Vancouver.
