    eagle plaque
    [carving-yl-c]

    PRICE$90.00

v25xh114x2cm thk The catalogue picture is of Edward Wadhams holding his carving of an eagle wall plaque, to give a clear picture of both the artist and the look and size of this wall plaque. Edward is very intense about his work, keeping it simple, but clear and elegant. This eagle has "cheek" feathers outlined, and it is easy to pick out the body and feathers, then the tail feather in the bottom right corner, and the claws in the bottom left. Edward usually works in yellow cedar. It is somewhat more "dense" than red cedar but is equally easy to work with. It is interesting to know that yellow cedar from either old or new growth can be used, because the grain is sufficiently fine. Red cedar must be from old growth, because that is the only kind that has fine enough grain to meet the needs of the carvers for a truly "workable" piece.
