    Spirit of the Orca
    [original-yel]

    PRICE$730.00

This is an almost ethereal portrayal of an orca leaping. Squamish carver David Gonzales has named it “Spirit of the Orca” to convey the almost mystical power of this oceanic creature. Interestingly, the circular figure in the centre of the piece David’s conception of a human form. He wants to portray the close relationship between the orca and indigenous peoples over the millennia. The carving is in yellow cedar, with the clean, crisp lines that characterize David Gonzales’ work. The orca’s fluid power, its encompassing the human/orca symbiosis, make for an entrancing work of art. It is 16” wide, and 16” inches from top to bottom and ¾ “ thick. It is very light, at 674 grams, yet very strong.
