    Raven w moonchild-vrt
    [red cedar w]

v25xh10x1.5cm-thk This is a very interesting variation on the portrayal by Alex Mountain of the raven, in that in its mid-section there is nestled a moonchild. Note also that there is an object held in the beak of the raven. This is the moon, which the raven as trickster is always engaged with, stealing it, bringing it into the heavens, etc. The piece is shown being held by Alex, to give a sense of its proportion.
