    Black bear- salmon- cedar
    [original on ]

    PRICE$149.00

Haida artist Darrel Amos is using a cedar plank as the base of this intricate painting of a black bear holding a salmon. He has reinforced the importance of the salmon to the bear family by also using a salmon image for the haunches of the bear. This is a wonderful melding of these creatures, featured on the red cedar that has been a mainstay in every aspect of life of the Haida nation over the millennia. Darrel Amos is using acrylic paint, and the cedar plank is smooth, with the age rings clearly showing. This piece will stand alone or fit well into a shadow box or some other imaginative way of presenting it to best advantage wherever it finds a home. V7” x H16” X ¼” thick. 176 grams.
